Hello all, I have been lurking on this board for a couple of weeks, trying to pick up info on savages for my daughter, Lucy Lurker, I have learned a lot about savages so far, just from reading here, in previous posts she has spoken of her tangle with the curve a couple of weeks ago. Now we are ready to start fixing all the things that are broken or bent, as all my experience is with repairing HD's I come to you folks for tech advice to help her repair hers. My main question today is should the front fender be fairly close to the front tire? I can't see any damage to the fender or the mounting brackets, be it the fender itself or the fork legs, but there seems to be only about 1/4" or 3/8" space between the fender and the tire out where the fender ends in the front, is this normal? Tire is fine, front end seems fine, the bike never hit on the tire or the fender, I watched the mishap happen from behind her, so I know what it did and did not hit.
